Khao Laem Ya - Ko Samet Group National Park

In 1981 the area known as Khao Laem Ya and the island of Ko Samet was designated as a nature reserve. It is an area of great natural beauty which is enganced by the tranquillity of the surroundings.

Khao Laem Ya is located about 6.4 kilometers from the fishing village of Ban Phe. Ko Samet, on which Sunthorn Phu, Thailand’greatest poet based his most famous work, the story of Pra Apaimanee, lies about 40 minutes boat journey offshore. The park also covers Mae Rumphueng Beach, Ban Kon Ao and some islands near Ko Samet such as Ko Kudee, Ko Kruai, Ko Khangkhao and Ko Platin.

The most well-known attraction of Rayong, Koh Samet offers beautiful beaches with charming white sand, strange-shape rocks, suitable relaxation, water sporting, exploring the coral reefs beneath the sea.

Ao Kiew Nok
Aow Kiew Nok is a great place for travelers planning to avoid modern development and crowded beaches. From Aow Kiew Nok you can walk to Aow Kiew Nai to see the most beautiful sunsets. A perfect place for travelers to escape crowds of tourists. If you are looking for somewhere far from the modern digitized world Aow Kiew Nok is a great place to visit.

Ko Kudee
It lies approximately 6 kilometers offshore. Besides Ko Kudee there are two smaller islands, one is Ko Khangkhao and another is Ko Ruesee Cave. All three islands lie a little to the east of Ko Samet. The islands have beautiful natural landscapes and ringed by fine beaches which are ideal for swimming and camping on.

Ao Noi Na (Ao Klang)
Ao Noi Na is located nearby the Sai Kaew beach however Ao Noi Na is a nice long beach about 1.5 km. and the beach is about 15-20 meters wide. The atmosphere is quieter than Ao Sai Kaew so if you like the white sand and clear waters of Ao Sai Kaew but need quiet place and good nature Ao Noi na may suit you better.

EAST COAST

Sai Kaew Beach
Sai Kaew beach is one of the most beautiful white sand beaches on Koh Samet. If you like the sun, sand, sea and party on the beach we would recommend Ao Sai Kaew. You can sunbathe in the morning, swim in the sea and join the party on the beach at night. For the restless among you there are activities offered on the beach during most times of the year such as Jet ski, banana boat, and windsurf. Sai Kaew Beach has various standards of resort and bungalow near the beach.

Ao Phai
Ao Phai is close to Sai Kaew Beach which is a very popular beach on Koh Samet. Thus, you will meet a lot of tourists on the beach. Aow Phai is a little quieter than Had Sai Kaew and has a lot of rocks on the beach. Recommended if you like sunbathing on the beach; Aow Phai is the place for you. However, Aow Phai is not recommended for swimming because it has dangerous currents at sea. There are red flags marking the dangerous areas.

Ao Tub Tim
Ao Tub Tim is near to Ao Put Sa where visitors can enjoy swimming and sunbathing. Here, the beach is white sand and clear water for those preferring nature and quiet beaches. Ao Tub Tim has small resort, decoration and nice services.

Ao Nuan
Ao Nuan is rather smaller more other Bays on Ko Samet so if you like the nature and quiet beach you’ll need to carry food and drink to this beach if you plan to picnic. The beach has only one small bungalow operation

Ao Wong Duan
Ao Wong Duan is a popular beach for travelers visiting Ko Samet as Ao Wong Duan divides into two atmospheres. The north of the beach the atmosphere is more natural and quiet, whilst if you like good restaurants and being around other people the centre of Ao Wong Duan beach might suite you better. Full Moon party every month and regular night shows liven up the evenings.

Ao Thian (Candlelight beach)
Ao Thian is a rather quiet place attracting travellers in search of nature. Ao Thian has two or three bungalows for tourists. Ao Thian has sea-rocks on the beach however it is still a nice quiet haven for travelers insearch of solitude.

Ao Wai
Ao Wai is a very nice beach and reasonably private private for tourists in search of nature’s simple pleasures - sea sand and sun. If you like white sands and a good beach for swimming and sunbathe it’s worth considering. Ao Wai has two - three bungalows for accommodating travelers.

Ao Lung Dam
Ao Lung Dam is the name of a small old man call "Lung Dam" (Uncle Black) who is the founder of some small bungalows on the Ao Lung Dam Beach. Ao Lung Dam is a popular place for Advertising Companies to come and use for backdrops for various products and fashion with it’s easy accessibility from Bangkok. This beach is a nice and quiet place for small tourist groups (when there’s no filming).
