Thailand as a nation has a tropical climate. Temperature and humidity can be high while the majority of people that come to Thailand find it pleasant. It can get quite hot in Thailand so you can turn on your air conditioning or stop inside one of the many air conditioned shops to cool down and relax before carrying on. Remember to keep yourself replenished with lots of water. Even though you could say its more or less summer time all year round, there are still seasons throughout the year. The high season, the dry season and the wet season ???monsoon?? or rainy season During high season, considered to be the dry season on samui which runs from December to February, temperatures on Koh Samui can reach up to 30C (86F). Brief tropical rain showers occur mostly in December. This is the best season for European people as the weather is comparatively cooler than the rest of the year. During the hot season which runs from March to June it can become very hot -- up to 40C (114F), but tends to be around the 30 ??? 35 degree mark with little or no rain. You will appreciate your air-conditioned accommodation during this time! Still an abindance of sunshine for the perfect beach holiday. The months of July to September are hot with occasional rain. These are also popular months for visitors. The rainy season of October and November see more rain than other months, though it generally doesn't rain every day. In contrast to other regions of Thailand, Samui does not really have a well-defined rainy season but sometimes there are sunless periods for two or three days, especially during the monsoon month of November. The weather is quite difficult to predict during this time, but being Samui, you're virtually assured of getting some great sunshine! The tropical showers are normally only for a brief time before you see some sunshine coming through. All though it can rain quite heavy, Samui???s water supplies can be low.
