Hua Hin GolfMilford Paradise & Golf Club
Designer Robert McFarland has used one of the most
interesting sites in Thailand to good effect. The course is surrounded on three sides by forested hills. From the clubhouse, panoramic sea views give the
course a "link" atmosphere. The large variation in elevation allows many sweeping holes. The eighteenth is a classical finishing hole played from
an elevated tee and commanding a tee shot of 200 yards carry to reach the fairway. Accommodations are available nearby. The Majestic
Creek
The Majestic Creek Country Club is yet another creation of Thailand's foremost golf architect, Dr.Sukitti Klangvisai. At 7,123 yards it is
one of the longest courses in Thailand, and it also claims to have the longest hole in the Kingdom at 770 yards, which becomes a par six! Dr.Sukitti,
together with the Thai/American shaping team have produced a layout which needs to be played with imagination and skill. Valleys in the nearby mountains
supply water to the maze of streams winding around the course, and the builders have been careful to preserve them as natural hazards. A free shuttle bus
service runs from the Majestic Beach Resort Hotel continuously throughout the day.
The Royal Hua Hin Golf Club
This is
one of Thailand's gems. The royal associations go back over seventy years. The course is very natural and is surrounded by beautiful scenery. Major
renovations and improvements in the 1980s have ensured that the course and its facilities remain on par with the newer generation of clubs. It is also a
course which affords players glorious views of the Gulf of Thailand. Those who play here well never forget the experience, especially when they play the
par-three eighteenth, with the beautiful sight of a Thai temple forming the panoramic background. The new clubhouse is situated alongside the charming old
Hau Hin railway station on the Bangkok-Singapore railway line, which contributes to an aura of elegance of a bygone era in old Thailand. |
