Koh Chang is still relatively undeveloped as unlike other island destinations it only really became popular in the last few years.

One reason for this was the island's lack of infrastructure, however this is slowly beginning to improve.

While Koh Chang will never attract the number of visitors Phuket or Samui do, its relatively close proximity to both Bangkok and Pattaya means that it will remain a popular destination, particularly for weekend visitors.

Like many islands, the limited amount of land available means that land prices can be quite high.
