In early 2004, the Amari Emerald Cove Resort opened on one of Thailands hidden secrets Koh Chang, in Trat province in the South East of Thailand. The destination has been made much more accessible by the recent opening of an airport in Trat, making Koh Chang only a hours flight from Bangkok

Koh Chang is a perfect hideaway for nature lovers. The largest in a group of 47 islands belonging to the Koh Chang National Marine Park, it is acclaimed for its pristine rain forests and stunning marine life. Lush, green and mountainous, the island has a multitude of natural treasures which visitors can explore. Apart from taking advantage of the soft white sand beaches, more adventurous guests can enjoy hiking in the rain forests, elephant trekking, fishing, sailing, snorkling and diving. Day trips to the surrounding islands can easily be arranged and there are two multi-level waterfalls with refreshing pools to swim in. In addition, a traditional fishing village, Bang Bao, is a fascinating place to get an insight into the island's fishing community. Raised high above the water on wooden stilts, it is not only charming, but also a great place to enjoy freshly caught seafood.

Facilities

Guests at the Amari Emerald Cove Resort can enjoy a choice of three restaurants, one with an outdoor terrace, as well as two bars. In addition, the resort has a 50 metre pool, jacuzzi, a children's pool and a scuba diving centre. With its white sandy beaches, caves, bays and tropical forests, this is the perfect place to replenish the mind and recharge. With this in mind, guests can enjoy a complete range of massage, body and facial treatments at the Sivara Spa. For those wanting to keep in shape, there is also a fitness room

There are three function rooms at the Amari Emerald Cove Resort, which can accomodate over 200 guests for meetings, conferences or banquets. The hotel can also arrange variety of theme evenings to suit groups of any size.

The selection of restaurants and bars offer an electric mix of Thai seafood and Italian specialities. The Cove Terrace has a delicious breakfast buffet, an all day a la carte menu and special theme nights. Alternatively, guests can dine in Sassi and enjoy traditional Italian cuisine complimented by modern interior design. Just Thai, has a wide selection of Thai and seafood specialities, whilst the Breezes lobby bar serves ice cold beer and cocktails to sounds of live music. Refreshing drinks and light bites are served all day at the pool side, and there is also round the clock room service.
