50 years ago, Kaomai Lanna resorts used to be Tobacco-curing mill. But after decline in tobacco business in 1990, we changed the tobacco curing-barns into the gorgeous luxury rooms and created the tropical gardens around the premises. Then we built many of Lanna style buildings including Karen-cottage.
Looking at barns from outside, one can see the roof made of corrugated steel sheets, while the old red-brick walls remain the same as they have been for the past 50 years. But step inside it's different - two storey guestrooms each equipped with modern facilities, including a television, a refrigerator and a
bathtub.
Each tobacco curing-barn was built in a different size. Every rooms have different interior decorations, from windows to curtains, beds and sofas.
First class facilities, those are kept in harmony with the beauty of nature surroundings, offer you restful comfort.
Cosy and well furnished room with modern amenities. Antique Thai style dressing tables and rare teak furniture enrich the romantic ambience.
Each room in difference, due to the original design of the curing barn. The beautiful colour of the red brick is omnipresent and this blends with wood and vine to create a truly natural comfortable setting.
There is a private bridge or walk way secretly leading guests into each chamber and on each yellow wooden front door are a set of antique Burmese elephant-faced handlers awaiting your arrival, greeting you to your home away from home.
Herbs and vegetables are the mainstays of the resorts agriculture output and in between these old buildings are the gardens of chilies, sweet basil and countless other herbs capable of adding that famous bite to the sumptuous Thai and Lanna food served from the kitchen. Located in one of the old kilns in the resort. The tropical style restaurant , in the entrance area, enticing passer by and guest alike decorated with wooden furniture in rural style, the gorgeous restaurant serves delicious local northern cuisine. Enjoy a variety of Thai - Chinese menu and typical northern dish "Kua-Kae" in pleasant surroundings with its forest-cooled open-air and relaxed atmosphere at our restaurant.
