Maekok River Village
Resort
 | |
The Maekok River Village Resort is idyllically located on the banks of the Mae Kok River with sweeping views across the water, to the forested
hills which form the border with Myanmar. The peaceful, rural setting makes an ideal getaway for those wanting to escape the usual city tourist traps. For
the interested and adventurous, the resort makes an excellent jumping off point for discovering Northern Thailand, so different from the bright lights of
Bangkok and Chiang Mai or the teeming resorts of Phuket or Pattaya. However, there are also numerous activities available at the resort itself, allowing
guests to fill their days with a variety of experiences. The resort is managed by Bryan and Rosie Massingham, who, with Shane and Sriphun Beary,
co-own the resort. Shane and Sriphun also own and manage Track of the Tiger Tours based in Chiang Mai. Originally from the U.K., Bryan and Rosie have spent
the last 22 years in the Far East and look forward to welcoming you to the MRVR.
With less than 30 rooms, we pride ourselves in providing the best

can make it; and as good as you would wish for

FacilitiesSwimming poolThe 12 metre swimming pool and paddling pool for children, provide a welcome
and refreshing dip after a long day's touring or sightseeing Sala lounge This comfortable open air lounge enjoys wonderful views across the
river. Catching cooling valley breezes, this is an ideal spot to catch up on holiday reading.
It is also available for private functions - an
early evening cocktail party can easily be organised at short notice! Paddyfields loungeThere is a small library, board games for the rare wet
day and a TV. This can also be turned into a party room for special occasions. The resort also has a small gym and herbal sauna on the premises.
There is also a classroom and meeting areas suitable for small group seminars. Restaurant and BarThe Riverside Bar and Restaurant have been
designed and built in traditional style using bamboo and rice straw thatch. Overlooking the water with wonderful views across to the hills, and into the
distance down river, it is memorable place for guests to enjoy their meals. Breakfasting, as the sun burns off the early morning mist, lifting the early
morning chill, is as magical as sipping a pre-dinner cocktail, watching the colours on the surrounding hills change from green to gold as the sun sets.
Our extensive menu provides diners with a wide choice of Thai and Northern Thai specialities, and western dishes and children's specials are also
available. Western or Thai style BBQs are always a favourite and special diets can be catered for. With a little notice, a reception or party can be
arranged. The Old Rice Mill BarWith various reminders of rural Thailand in its decor, this bar is popular venue, particularly on the colder
winter evenings, or when summer downpours force guests away from the Riverside! ACTIVITIESTo be assured that we can satisfy your requests, you
are asked to book activities before arrival as we cannot always guarantee availability of guides, instructors, rafts/barges or vehicles at short notice.
