Morning Star
Resort - Location
Ao Ban Khai is
the end section of the long sunset beach that runs the length of the south-east coast and forms part of the long unbroken stretch of white sand beach that
runs from Ban Khai right the way up to Thong Sala. The sunset views can sometimes be spectacular, with views up and down the coastline and out to Koh Samui.
The village's primary industry is fishing, thus there is a small marina in the centre of Ban Tai where you can commission boat and fishing trips. Most of
the land along the coastline has been farmed as coconut plantations and the area takes on a dreamy desert island feel with palms leaning in to the calm
emerald sea. About 200 metres away from the beach the sea bed gradually slopes to meet the coral reef. Once over the reef, a variety of corals and marine
life make the area good for snorkeling. One of the reasons for Ban Khai's great popularity is its easy accessibility and proximity to the main
towns. It is located on the south-east coast of Koh Phangan and is a popular place for folk who want to get away from the hubbub of Had Rin and Thongsala,
whist still being near everything; whether you fancy a big night out or want to use the services in the Islands capital. Koh Phangan's primary concrete road
runs through Ban Tai, thus it is easily reached by all means of road transport and it can also be got to by boat taxi from Had Rin and Thong Sala.
