Mut Mee Guest House
Mut Mee is a beautiful tropical tree filled garden on the banks of the Maekong River, in the small border town of Nong Khai in
the far north-east of Thailand, in the region known as Isan.
Across the Maekong is Laos and its capital Vientiane is only sixteen kilometres
away... so many who stay here are travelling there or back, or renewing a Lao or Thai visa. We have inexpensive and clean accommodation in houses
around the garden and a restaurant serving delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian Thai and Western food. Nearby there is an Art Gallery belonging to
Lisa, one of Mut Mee's owners. And Professional Yoga Masters Pancho & Beatrix offer Yoga, Reiki, Astrology & Meditation for much of the
year. On hand are also Personal Fitness Training, a well stocked Bookshop, and a sunset Boat Cruise which leaves from the temple next door at 5.30pm
every evening. It's a one hour trip down to the ancient sunken chedi and back.
RoomsFrom simple dorm beds to air-con accommodation with hot
shower, Mut Mee has many kinds of rooms.
You can even stay in our house! Originally built for the favourite mistress of Khun Prajak in the
1880's, it overlooks the river beside the two spirit houses of "Jao Mare Song Nam".
As we do not place time limits on how long people
may stay, this does mean we can't be sure which rooms will be available on any given day... As a result we can't guarantee bookings on specific rooms, as
they may well be already occupied. However, don't panic! If we can't get it... we'll find something similar. Room Types- Double: air
conditioning, bathroom with hot water, mosquito net / screens, verandah
