The Oriental, Bangkok has recently completed a US$80 million renovation spanning over 4 years. All guest rooms and suites in The River, Garden and Authors' Wing have been fully renovated. The renovation includes spacious new bathrooms in the River Wing as well as state-of-the-art-in-room entertainment systems throughout, and a perfect mix of colonial and Thai furnishings, reflecting the hotel's legendary past.

The Oriental introduces high-speed broadband internet access in all accommodation. Dual telephone lines and international voltage plugs are also available, while a complimentary fax machine/printer is available on request.

Suites

The Oriental's suites have been named after famous authors who have resided at the hotel - for example, Conrad, Maugham, Michener and Greene. Others are named after the ships of Conrad's time that lay at anchor in the river opposite the hotel. There are 35 luxurious suites which are individually furnished and decorated to reflect the origins of its name.

Authors' Suite

The Authors' Suites are situated off wide, cool hallways on the first floor directly above the Authors' Lounge. This set of four famous suites can be reserved in total for the convenience of guests travelling together.

Somerset Maugham Suite

A portrait of the author and dramatist on the charming escritoire, walls emblazoned with majestic red and gold, traditional carved and gilded matching four-poster beds and exquisitely crafted furnishings reflect the richness of the Thailand in which he worked.

Joseph Conrad Suite

The worldly elegance of a curtain-draped four-poster bed. Stylish furnishings in warm colours. The airy bay windows overlooking the garden by the River of Kings. James Michener Suite

Enter into a suite that captures the essence of international luxury. The soothing qualities of space and light complement this subtly modern setting. Noel Coward Suite

The suite is a pure reflection of this legendary dramatist's striking personality. Beyond the understated elegance of the arched doorway unfolds an enticing combination of style and whimsy.
