PHUKET, Apr 11 (TNA) – The December tsunami may have made visitors to Thailand's southern resort island of Phuket wary
of further natural disasters, but property developers on the island are indicating their confidence in its future by erecting several new luxury
houses.
According to Mr. Thanusak Phuendech, executive director of Phuket Nature Homes, demand for homes costing Bt5-10 million remains high, with both
foreign and Thai customers eyeing up the high end of the property market.
Phuket Nature Homes is currently investing Bt300 million in a housing project
in tambon Chalong, and 30 percent of the project’s houses have been snapped up already.
Although Phuket was battered by the tsunami on 26 December,
most of the damage occurred in coastal areas.
