NARATHIWAT, Apr 11 (TNA) - Four villagers were shot by suspected militants in the southern
province of Narathiwat on Monday morning.
The latest victim of the unrest in the deep south was a 37-year-old man who was shot by gunman on a
motorcycle while he was returning home.
He was rushed to hospital and was in critical condition.
Meanwhile, three more villagers were shot by
suspected insurgents early this morning.
The first victim was a motorcyclist killed by an unknown number of gunmen in a pick-up truck on the road
leading to Waeng district. His pillion rider was also injured in the attack.
The other victim was ambushed by gunmen while he was driving his pick-up
truck to the market. He was killed immediately at the scene.
The victim used to work as a government official but he quitted his job due to the unrest
in the deep south.
The series of attacks of civilians this morning were believed to be the work of suspected insurgents.
