Bangkok Airport Don Muang Bangkok Airport (Don Muang) is located 25 kilometres north of the city of Bangkok. It served the city and surrounding areas and acted as a principal hub for Thailand and other parts of South East Asia. Bangkok International Airport (BKK) served a constant flow of business travellers, vacationers and backpackers, and has risen into the 22nd busiest world airports and has already passed its capacity of 37 million passengers a year.
BKK has two international terminals and a domestic terminal, serving more than 80 airlines.
Don Muang will be relegated to domestic-only status when the new airport opens. Suvarnabhumi Airport, has now opened its doors to passengers and is serving as Bangkok's main airport. Suvarnabhumi airport is about 25 kilometres from downtown Bangkok at Bang Phli District.
