Ao Nang

Ao Nang has developed in recent years from being a small fishing village to a major international resort for both packagers and backpackers. All kinds of accommodation are available from basic bungalows right up to full-on five star resorts.

Daytime activities include some of Thailand's best diving, kayaking, jungle trekking and island tours.

Continued development has seen Ao Nang emerge as a serious rival to Phuket in the tourism market. Yet unlike it's neighbour, Ao Nang takes pride in it's "village" atmosphere and all the locals assure us that this WILL NOT become the "new Phuket".

Ao Nang is a family destination. There are not too many visible elements of the "traditional" Thai nightlife and parents can rest assured that there are numerous activities for the little ones to keep them out of trouble!

For the night owls there is live music, traditional cultural shows and some of the county's finest seafood restaurants. So fresh that just a few hours before, it was happily swimming in the Andaman sea!!
