Ban Tai Ban Tai beach is the middle section of the long sunset beach that runs the length of the south-east coast and forms part of the long unbroken stretch of white sand beach that runs from Ban Khai right the way up to Thong Sala.
The sunset views can sometimes be spectacular, with views up and down the coastline and out to Koh Samui.
The village?s primary industry is fishing, thus there is a small marina in the centre of Ban Tai where you can commission boat and fishing trips. Most of the land along the coastline has been farmed as coconut plantation and the area takes on a dreamy desert island feel with palms leaning in to the calm emerald sea. Either side of the marina the wide white sand beach gradually slopes to meet the coral reef about 200 metres away. In low tidal season (April to November), swimming on the beach side of the reef is not always possible. Once over the reef, a variety of corals and marine life make the area good for snorkeling. |
