An exciting display in one day of the range of thrills and beauty northern Thailand has to offer. Beautiful mountains, rubber rafting down glorious tropical rivers, lush vegetation, diverse cultures, the exotic and magnificent elephant - one of the symbols of northern Thailand - all combined in one day to show you a little of everything. You may end your day a bit tired physically but you will be refreshed and stimulated mentally.

This tour is suitable for all ages of average to above average fitness - and even if you think you are below average, you will surprise yourself! You will be accompanied by a well-trained and extremely accommodating Lisu Lodge guide, an expert in the area and its people, who will also act as an interpreter between you and the hilltribe people whom you will be meeting and chatting with.

All safety equipment to international standards is supplied, as is a back-up vehicle for those wishing to opt out of any activity.

Itinerary
Early morning pick-up (0730) from your hotel in Chiang Mai for your one-hour drive north to Lisu Lodge. Welcome at the Lodge, where you will pick up your mountain bike and cycle for about an hour along quiet, easy country roads through pretty rural scenery to the Mae Taeng River, where you will be met by your elephant.

Climb aloft, then ride along narrow jungle paths for about an hour, with views of mountains and the river below, to the elephant and rafting camp. In this beautiful spot by the river, have a picnic lunch. Then board a rubber raft after a brief training session, and paddle downstream through the sometimes calm, sometimes exciting waters of the river.

Disembark and climb aboard local transport for a visit to an exotic and very friendly Akha hill tribe village, where we take tea with a family, meeting the fascinating old witch doctor when he's in. Your mountain bikes will be delivered to the village for a forty-minute cycle ride back to Lisu Lodge; then return by local taxi to Chiang Mai by about 7.00 pm.
