3 Day 2 Night Tour Close Encounter with the Tribes (join-in)

Floating Market Floating market visit, ride alongside the waterways Guaranteed departures every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday with a minimum group of 2 adults.

Guests are picked up at all major hotels in Bangkok (please enquire to find out if your hotel is along the pick up route). We then transfer by a/c bus southwards to start our bicycle exploration of the Mae Klong Delta area at Damnoen Saduak floating market, the biggest and most colourful of it's kind in Thailand. Starting with a long tail boat ride to Wat Amphawan Chetiyaram, our ride takes us through coconut, aloe vera plantations and fruit orchards. Riding quiet back roads and jeep trails we stop to visit temples and appreciate the countryside. We have a Thai lunch at a riverside restaurant on the banks of the Mae Klong before cycling back to the floating market, to end the trip.

Trip Profile
This is a gentle 30 kilometre ride along country backroads and is suitable for anyone that can ride a bike. The roads are flat, quiet countryside trails filled with plantations that produce many of mouth watering fruits that Thailand is famous for.We ride as a group, with an experienced SpiceRoads cycle guide setting a gentle pace. Stopping often to visit points of interest, we also take the opportunity to sample some of the local food. Our support vehicle follows close behind with plenty provisions. Guides are knowledgeable on the local area and customs and explain the history, culture and local way-of-life at each stop. Water, soft drinks and snacks are all included as well as lunch and SpiceRoads supplies a TREK mountain bike and helmet.

This trip is suitable for most levels of riders and is an excellent trip for families.

Itinerary
Bangkok – Samut Songkram - Bangkok 32 km [L]
06:45-07:30 Pick up from hotels (pick up and drop off at all major Bangkok hotels).
07:30-08:45 Drive to Samut Songkram.
08:45-09:15 Visit Damnoen Nam Saduak (Floating Market).
09:15-10:00 Long tail boat ride through the maze of canals to Wat Amphawan Chetiyaram.
10:00-12:00 Ride along back roads visiting Ban Khai Noi, Ban Bung before arriving at our lunch stop Suan Rim Nam (19km).
12:00-13:00 Enjoy lunch on the banks of the Mae Klong River.
13:00-14:30 Ride more back roads back to our start point of the floating market. (13 km).
14:30-16:30 Drive back top Bangkok and drop off at hotels.

Total Distance: 32km
Road Surface: This tour follows a mix of asphalt roads, vehicle-width dirt roads, and canal paths. No technical ability is required.
Support: One or two 8-seat air-conditioned minibuses fitted with two-way radio and specially converted to take bikes and bikers.
Group Size: Minimum 2. Maximum 16.
Staff: Each tour is led by at least one fully-trained English speaking tour guide.
Food: Lunch is a delicious Thai lunch. Soft drinks, water and fruit are available all day.
